tiny newsletter #209: stranded in seattle!!
hello helloooo,
like so many other ppl this wk, i couldn’t get back to nyc as planned due to the blizzard. w an accidental 3 extra days in seattle’s capitol hill neighborhood, i ate a lot of great food.
if you happen to find yourself there, i rec…
🍳 the breakfast sandwich at b-sides. it’s an egg sandwich cooked w leeks on an english muffin w cheese and daikon radish, and it is excellent. add mushrooms + hot sauce.
🥔 the azzy special at glo’s. a mountain of crispy hash browns and roasted veggies topped w melted cheddar and avocado, at a teal diner. i’m buying frozen hash browns asap to recreate.
🫚 rachel’s ginger beer at harry’s fine foods. this is a v cute wine bar (i was so happy to meet fotn gabi woods here!!) that serves a delicious take on ginger beer. vibe and fries are great as well.
🍩 a classic donut of your choice at top pot. seattle has a plethora of options and this spot had a real “you can hang out here all day” energy to it. fotn lwam rafel likes their apple fritter best.
📚 not food, but elliott bay book company. it has huge tables to work at, an enormous selection of books, a machine that spits out short stories (!), and this funny hat that saved me from the endless rain.
hope if you’re heading to seattle it’s on purpose, but either way these spots are worth a stop.
💌 and that’s tiny! thank you for reading, xo aud
ps even tho it’s february, many flowers were in bloom! guess there’s a reason it’s called “the evergreen state.” i loved these camellias on a shrub taller than me.
