tiny newsletter #197: i made a tiny doc!

hello hellooooo,

as many of you know, my fam owns a men’s clothing biz in michigan. my great-grandpa started it in 1933 and my dad has worked there nearly his entire career alongside my poppa.

last summer, my poppa was turning 98 and i felt like someone should rly capture his and my dad’s relationship. so i borrowed fotn caitlin dickson’s sound + stabilizing equipment, made a shotlist, convinced them to come in on their 1 day/wk off, and filmed them on my phone.

then i sat on the footage for 6 months and got overwhelmed everytime i opened editing software. so i asked fotn anne conron, pro video editor irl, to help me edit it down, add captions, get the color just right, etc. she knocked it out of the freakin park!!

w/o further ado, watch baron's home video aka tiny's first doc here!

the music is my cousin nate playing gershwin, since we all grew up taking piano lessons together and he was always the best by far lol.

this was so much fun to make, i highly rec filming your fam. ty caitlin, anne, and nate! and tysm to my dad and poppa for spending a sun at baron's w me and for answering (most of) my q’s.

lmk what you think 💌 that’s the tiny letter, tysm for reading and in this case, watching too. xo aud
