tiny newsletter #165: dear golden case study

hi hi,

2 tiny's ago i said i'd tell you more about our recent work at picnic for dear golden, and then i got sidetracked w the butter lamb, haha. so! now i'm filling you in on it today.

dear golden is a clothing and accessories store in ann arbor that i've loooved for years. back in dec, i had a chance run in with the owner lauren while eating din w my mom, and i was so excited to meet her i nearly choked on my cake.

i dm'd her before i'd left the restaurant and slipped them my biz card bcuz she asked what i do. and then she replied to my dm with this! dream picnic project, omg i could not believe!!

lauren had her logo for 17 yrs and wanted something new she could change so she'd never tire of it. we said ok we'll get to work!! the process went like this: 1) moodboards 2) creative direction 3) pen + pencil sketches 4) proper mock ups 5) final version (1, 2, 3, 4). i'm rly happy w it and esp happy she is too.

the whole thing felt like maybe the key to making fun things happen is leaving your home and talking to strangers?? or as a guy i sat next to on a plane lately categorized it, “that's just doing business". lol! i love doing business as picnic, i want to make beautiful things forever!!

💌 if you or anyone you know needs any creative or strategy help, we're booking projects for summer - hmu! and tysm for reading, that's the tiny letter this week. xoxo aud
